Why Professional Photography?

Our mission is to help you create something not only tangible for your home, but also deeply moving for you and for your children to love and adore as the years pass. There’s a reason you chose to invest in professional portraiture. We plan to ensure that reason resonates in your heart each and every day, and that your printed portrait art does nothing but grow in sentimental value as your children grow.

Can I Have The Digitals?

Of course! We know how important it is for you to preserve your family’s legacy.  With that in mind, all of our portraits include their corresponding digital negative. Please contact us for more detailed pricing information on our different session types and product offerings.

How Much Do People Spend?

Every client has different product needs, ranging from art books to portfolio collections, to wall art, or digital negatives.  Most clients spend between $500 -$2000. What you choose to invest is entirely up to you!

What is Included in a Portrait Session?

  • A design consultation to set your goals and plan the creative direction for your session.
  • Custom set design.
  • A reserved time slot and creative time to photograph your session.
  • High-end retouching to polish your portraits.
  • A second reserved time slot for an ordering appointment to review images from your session, and to finalize all product designs.

The Portrait Process

BEGIN WITH THE END IN MIND

Step 1: Set Your Goals

You know you want photos of your kids and family at every age and stage, but what are you going to do with them? This is the beauty of your life. How do you want to frame it?

Ask Yourself…

  • WHERE do I want to display my images?
  • HOW do I want to enjoy them in 5-10 years?
  • WHAT “look” am I aiming for?
  • WHY do I want these images now?

Step 2: Design Your Session

Your Design Consultation kicks off with the interview process. Understanding your unique personalities and family dynamics allows us to capture authentic expressions.

  • Who is the dialed in kid? Who is the rebel?
  • What will you wear?
  • Are there specific themes or color schemes you want to incorporate?
  • Are we working to match existing décor and art pieces, or creating something entirely new?
  • Will your shoot be in studio, or on location?
  • Will you include extended family, or family pets?

Step 3: The Photoshoot

Photoshoots take place in our studio with controlled lighting and a plethora of simple props and set designs. The studio offers a stylish and relaxed environment where we create a look that is sophisticated no matter what the season.

During the warmer months, let’s take it outside! Sessions at the Metroparks or Lake Erie make for some amazing and unique images, especially if the location is special to you. So, consider carefully where you’d like to have your session, or we can recommend a spot for you.

Step 4: The Reveal

Approximately 1 week after your session your photos will be ready for viewing.

I will present you with the best images from your session and together we will design your package.

We take the time to design the right art piece for your home. We’ll help you sort through the images and make final decisions on what will look best with your decor. We’ll show you actual sizes and pair images together for a stunning album or wall gallery.

We carry high end wall art and albums that are hand crafted with some of the finest materials, and superior printing technologies in the world.

Our high-end Signature Retouching is complimentary on all portraits.

Step 5: Design Your Printed Art

Do you have a tall, skinny spot above your fireplace? Let’s create an amazing iconic image to hang there.

Perhaps you want to start a family gallery incorporating older images with the new portraits you are commissioning? We can make that happen.

We will work with you on your existing space and can even come out to your home to consult with you and/or your interior designer. We will take measurements, talk color coordination and long-term strategy to best use the available wall space in your home.

Are you moving soon or live in a house with no wall space? We can work with you on creating a custom designed heirloom album that you can pass down to your children.

Step 6: A Long Term Plan

And that’s not the end! Our families often come to us year after year. As your children grow and change, it will be time to update your portraits. So right from the start we plan, knowing that more may come. And we design around that! The next time you work with us, we’ll create art that coordinates with sessions past, so you can build on to what we’ve already created for you in a way that works and delights you year after year.
